Johnnie Mazzer, geboren am 2. August 1977 in New Jersey (USA), ist ein Sänger und Songwriter, der sich durch seine Vielseitigkeit und seine markante künstlerische Handschrift einen Namen gemacht hat. Heute lebt und arbeitet er in Los Angeles, Kalifornien, wo er seine musikalische Karriere kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt.

Seine Stimme vereint auf eindrucksvolle Weise Gegensätze: rau und kraftvoll, zugleich aber überraschend sanft und nuanciert. OBZ: Do you write your own songs?
MAZZER: Yes.

OBZ: What does your songs evolve from?
MAZZER: anything that I feel really strongly about: love, failed relationships, being lonely, death, my inspirations.

OBZ: You also write for other artists. Is the collaboration important to you?
MAZZER: If I’m writing for, or with another artist, I always want to make sure they love the final product.

OBZ: Is music for you a feeling of life? Do you think music should play an important role in people’s life?
MAZZER: I’m not sure I would want to live life if there were no music.

OBZ: Do you always play your music live? Is that important to you?
MAZZER: I always sing live, but a lot of times I can’t find musicians to play with so I’ll just sing to the music track. Live is always best tho.

OBZ: With whom would you like to work together?
MAZZER: Stephan Jenkins from Third Eye Blind, Max Martin & Britney Spears.

OBZ: Do you have a dream project?
MAZZER: Yes, doing an album for myself through a major label with major promotion. -Major labels have lots of money that would make my songs sound better than I could ever get them to.

OBZ: What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you? Was it on a concert? Or was it on another event?
MAZZER: lol i don’t know. There’s so many. haha

OBZ: Tell me about the greatest experience you had with your fans.
MAZZER: The greatest feeling is when someone e-mails me from cities I’ve never heard of, telling me they heard my songs & love them. That is the most amazing feeling. To know that you are appreciated.

OBZ: Is it important to you to keep in contact with your fans?
MAZZER: yes but i try not to bombard them with too many e-mails. I only contact my fans when I have a new album. (so not too often, unfortunately).

OBZ: What is the most important thing in your life?
MAZZER: Love, family, friends & music.

OBZ: Imagine you had one free wish. What would you wish for?
MAZZER: the ability to make my songs whenever i want to, without having to worry about how I’m going to pay for them.

OBZ: Have you ever been to Germany before?
MAZZER: no, but i want to. I love Germans. They’re all so sexy & very nice people.

OBZ: Imagine now you have the opportunity to thank all your friends and family. What would you say to them?
MAZZER: I love you & I’m very glad you are in my life.

OBZ: What can we expect of you in the future?
MAZZER: a few wrinkles, some grey hair….& new music.
