Justin Taylor wurde am 12. September in Kapstadt, Südafrika, geboren und lebt sowie arbeitet heute in Charlotte, North Carolina (USA), wo er seine musikalische Laufbahn kontinuierlich weiter entfaltet.
Seine Musik ist geprägt von warmen, feinfühligen Gitarrenklängen und einer sanften, angenehm zurückhaltenden Stimme, die sofort eine intime und berührende Atmosphäre schafft. Mit viel Gespür für Melodie und Emotion gelingt es ihm, seine Stücke sowohl technisch versiert als auch emotional zugänglich zu gestalten.

OBZ: Do you write your own songs?
TAYLOR: Yes.
OBZ: What does your songs evolve from?
TAYLOR: Sometimes it starts with messing around with a few chords and humming some melodiess and often the songs seem to find themselves.
OBZ: You also write for other artists. Is the collaboration important to you?
TAYLOR: No i don’t really write for other artists so collaboration isn’t important to me… although who knows what may happen in the future.
OBZ: Is music for you a feeling of life? Do you think music should play an important role in people’s life?
TAYLOR: I feel like music is God’s gift to us.
OBZ: Do you always play your music live? Is that important to you?
TAYLOR: Yes i do, i love playing live, especially for respectful, listening audiences.
OBZ: With whom would you like to work together?
TAYLOR: I play with a friend Jeremy Adams, a sax player, i enjoy making music with him.
OBZ: Do you have a dream project?
TAYLOR: Well, i would love John Mayer to play a solo on my song „I will not be fine“ and have Norah Jones play piano on „Not the way“ another song of mine
OBZ: What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you? Was it on a concert? Or was it on another event?
TAYLOR: For my bachelor’s party they made me perform a concert wearing a diaper over my clothes. They also instructed me not to tell the audience what it was for.

OBZ: Tell me about the greatest experience you had with your fans.
TAYLOR: I performed a concert back in South Africa with Richard Bruyns playing lap slide on „Leave“ a song of mine. It was going so well i could hear the audience sigh from enjoyment at points and that was my favourite moment.
OBZ: Is it important to you to keep in contact with your fans?
TAYLOR: Yes, i’m constantly on facebook and myspace and i pride myself on the fact that i always reply to messages.
OBZ: What is the most important thing in your life?
TAYLOR: My faith in God foremost and then my wife.
OBZ: Imagine you had one free wish. What would you wish for?
TAYLOR: Success in the music industry.
OBZ: Have you ever been to Germany before?
TAYLOR: No, but i would love to.
OBZ: Imagine now you have the opportunity to thank all your friends and family. What would you say to them?
TAYLOR: „Thanks for believing in me and helping me to beleive in myself, i owe everything to you“.
OBZ: What can we expect of you in the future?
TAYLOR: The plan is to get another album out by the end of the year.
