Jonathan Chase wurde am 26. Oktober 1979 in Florida geboren. Jonathan lebt und arbeitet heute in Los Angeles / Hollywood, Amerika und arbeitet dort als Schauspieler.
Ein Sunnyboy der die weiblichen Teenies mit seinem Charme, seinen Augen und mit seinem Lächeln zum kreischen bringt. Talentiert, sexy und sehr charmant.
Aktueller Stand: Jonathan Chase hat eine beeindruckende Karriere als Schauspieler vorzuweisen. Seit der Geburt seines Kindes ist es jedoch ruhiger um ihn geworden. Gelegentlich gewährt er über soziale Medien private Einblicke in sein Leben. Momentan pausiert Jonathan von seiner Schauspielkarriere.

OBZ: Wollten sie schon immer Schauspieler werden? Oder sind sie nur zufällig dazu gekommen? Und wie sind sie dazu gekommen?
JONATHAN: Well actually I began studying theater my last 2 years in college at the University of Florida. I moved to New York City to study at Lee Strasberg Theater Institute after I graduated. It was my 6 months studying abroad in London and seeing theater there that convinced me that acting was a mysterious, challenging art that I wanted to be a part of.
OBZ: 2007 kamen in Deutschland gleich drei Filme mit Ihnen auf DVD. „The Gingerdead Man”, “7eventy 5ive” and “Another Gay Movie”. Welchen Film möchten / würden sie den deutschen Zuschauern besonders empfehlen? Und warum?
JONATHAN: Well those films were my first films to work on when I moved to LA from New York. It has been a while since I have worked on those. I would personally recommend a film I just shot, called „GAME,“ with Gerard Butler and Michael C. Hall. It’s what I like to call a mix of Blade Runner meets the video game Halo. That will come out in 2009 in the States. The films you mentioned are for different audiences completely. I think it depends on personal taste.
OBZ: Auf welche Rolle sind sie besonders stolz?
JONATHAN: Gingerdead Man was my first film in LA. It gave me the confidence to go out there and continue to work.
OBZ: „7eventy 5ive“ hat einen wahren Hintergrund. Die ungeklärten Mordfälle in den Rockies. Wie war die Stimmung am Set? Gab es irgendwelche Vorfälle wehrend der Dreharbeiten?
JONATHAN: Well the mood was surprising light when we were setting up. But when on the dark sets and rehearsing action sequences you start to feel the intensity involved in making a horror film.
OBZ: In „7eventy 5ive“ spielt auch Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, Batman Beginns) mit. Es gibt keine Szene im Film, die sie mit Rutger Hauer zusammen spielen. Sind sie ihm dennoch mal am Set begegnet? Wie war die Begegnung? Haben sie etwas von ihm lernen können?
JONATHAN: Rutger actually taught acting classes on the weekends while shooting. Cast and crew, anyone who wanted to come could. That was fun. A few of us went out on a speed boat after the classes. He’s Rutger Hauer. He’s a legend. So it was just great to talk with him.
OBZ: Der Mörder in „7eventy 5ive“ ähnelt dem Killer aus dem Film „Düstere Legenden“. War das beabsichtigt?
JONATHAN: I think in a horror film where there is a human antagonist, it’s difficult to not emulate past horror films. Let’s face it, people die in scary movies haha.
OBZ: In „Another Gay Movie“ spielen sie (wie der Titel des Films schon verrät) einen Homosexuellen. War es schwer mit einem Mann eine Sexszene zu drehen? Einen Mann zu küssen? Wie haben sie sich darauf vorbereitet?
JONATHAN: It was in the script. It was a funny script. It’s all part of being in that movie.
OBZ: Der Film ist die Gay-Version von „American Pie“. Viele Szenen sind identisch mit dem Original. Da ist es sicherlich schwer gewesen, noch eins drauf zu packen an Gags. Was (wie wir finden) gut gelungen ist! Was glauben sie, woran das liegen könnte? An den witzigen Dialogen? Und was / wie unterscheidet sich „Another Gay Movie“ mit „American Pie“?
JONATHAN: I think it was the set designer that made the movie. Look at it, its so colorful. Another Gay Movie takes a few scenes from American Pie but also form Heathers and numerous John Waters‘ elements came into play.
OBZ: Ist eine Fortsetzung von „Another Gay Movie“ in Planung? Wehren sie dann auch wieder mit dabei?
JONATHAN: There is a sequel and no i did not sign on to do that film. I was busy with other projects at the time.
OBZ: Sollte man ihrer Meinung nach als Schauspieler unbedingt noch andere Sachen nebenbei machen (so wie sie jetzt)? Statt sich nur auf einer Sache / der Schauspielerei zu konzentrieren. Und warum sollte man das Ihrer Meinung nach? Machen sie etwas nebenbei?
JONATHAN: Acting should be taken lightly sometimes. Im not fighting a war for my country or curing diseases. But i think acting has its place. I try to live in the outdoors, i do a lot of outdoor sports.
OBZ: Haben sie noch Ziele in Ihrem Beruf? Welcher Herausforderung würden sie sich gerne noch stellen (wenn es eine gibt)?
JONATHAN: I want to do some dangerous political film that has people thinking. I want to continue to work on comedies. I really strive to have fun no matter what project im on.
OBZ: Was war für sie der schönste Moment bei einem Dreh? Oder überhaupt der schönste Moment in Ihrem Leben?
JONATHAN: I think hiking in Colorado with my parents and my dog. Or driving thru Italia with my family. Visually beautiful and I always have laughs with my folks. They are my best friends.
OBZ: Was war das peinlichste was Ihnen im Leben passiert ist?
JONATHAN: I think I was at a hotel in the Catskills, NY when I was 10 years old. Why I am telling you this, I dont know. This is probably not a good idea to type this but here it goes. I jumped off the diving board into the pool at the hotel. I would say about 200+ people by the pool on any given weekend. And this was one of the 25 foot high diving boards. So for a 10 year old its high. When i came up out of the water I realized too late my swim suit was 20 feet away from me right where I hit the water. That was embarassing. It still is.
OBZ: Mit wem würden sie gerne mal zusammen arbeiten?
I really want to work with Javier Bardem. I think he’s the most exciting actor out there.
OBZ: Haben sie ein Traumprojekt?
JONATHAN: My dream is to keep on working and challenging myself. I am doing that right now.
OBZ: Was würden sie in Ihrem Leben niemals machen?
JONATHAN: I dont think i could harm someone for no reason. This is a tough one. I like to believe the actions I wont take in my life will be ones that are malevolent.
OBZ: Haben sie Vorbilder? Welche?
JONATHAN: Of course. My parents. Coolest to people alive.
OBZ: Sie bekommen auch sicherlich Post von Menschen die Ihr Arbeit sehr schätzen (Fanpost). Sind es nur Autogrammwünsche oder teilen die Menschen Ihnen auch persönliche Schicksale mit und machen Ihnen Geschenke? Gab es da auch Briefe die Ihnen im Gedächtnis blieben. Können sie uns da etwas verraten, was Ihnen besonders beeindruckte? Geben Ihnen die Briefe Kraft (bei der Schauspielerei, sonstiges)?
JONATHAN: I get some fan mail. Mainly from One On One and Another Gay Movie. People are surprisingly nice. I have kept a lot of the letters I have received. They make me feel I am doing some good and affecting a few people out there.
OBZ: Sie haben jetzt die Möglichkeit Ihren Fans, Ihren Freunden, Ihrer Familie und allen anderen etwas mitzuteilen. Was möchten sie sagen?
JONATHAN: If you want to do something, do it. No one can tell you ’no‘ except yourself.
OBZ: Was dürfen oder können wir von Ihnen in Zukunft erwarten?
JONATHAN: Look out for Knight Rider on NBC the 17th of February. And GAME should be out in 2009. I worked on a few other films recently and two SPike TV films Backwoods and Death Match. But I think those only play in America.
