Künstler steht für einen Sound, der sich mühelos zwischen entspannten, gefühlvollen Momenten und lässigen Grooves bewegt — stets zugänglich, ohne je abgehoben zu wirken.
Seine Songs zeichnen sich durch eine klare Linie und ein feines Gespür für Atmosphäre aus: mal intim und ruhig, mal locker und unbeschwert. Besonders prägend ist dabei seine Stimme, die mit Ausdrucksstärke und Wiedererkennungswert überzeugt und seinen Tracks eine eigene Handschrift verleiht.
Mit diesem Gespür für eingängige Melodien und Stimmungen bringt WAZ alles mit, was es für Songs mit echtem Hitpotenzial braucht.
Ein Gespräch über Klang, Gefühl und den Anspruch, Musik zu schaffen, die bleibt.

OBZ: Schreiben sie Ihre Songs selber? Und schreiben sie über Ihr Leben?
WAZ: Yes, I write all my songs. Music and Lyrics. My songs typically embrace some
aspect of my life. Whether it’s situation I’ve been in or something a friend has dealt with.
OBZ: Wie entstehen Ihre Songs?
WAZ: I usually start with an idea on my guitar that I just keep repeating.
I play the ideas into an old tape recorder and listen over and over (hundred’s of times) until something makes sense.
OBZ: Ihre Songs handeln von Freiheit, Lebenserfahrungen und von der Liebe. Sehen sie das genauso?
WAZ: Yeah, that pretty much sums me up personally. I guess I can express it even more though my songs.
OBZ: Sie Covern auch Songs (zB. Von U2)? Ihre Eigeninterpretationen klingen ein wenig besserer als die Originale, finden wir. Wie reagieren Ihre die Zuhörer auf die gecoverten Versionen der großartigen Songs?
WAZ: People really like it! U2’s people denied usage of it ‚cause I actually wrote the music to go with their lyrics. It’s not something I planned on doing…..it all just came together like that.
I’m proud if it…even if most people will never hear it.
OBZ: Ihre Musik ist nicht in Deutschland erhältlich. Wie kann man sie bekommen?
WAZ: It’s now available on iTunes and on CdBaby.com
OBZ: Spielen sie Ihre Musik immer Live? Ist Ihnen das besonders wichtig?
WAZ: Next to writing and recording, playing live is by far my favorite part of being a songwriter and singer. Would do it everyday if possible!
OBZ: Mit wem würden sie gerne mal zusammen arbeiten?
WAZ: Pete Yorn as a musician, and a number of really talented producers: R Walt Vincent, Will Golden, Al Sgro Heroes For Zeroes in Dublin. They directed and produced my „She’s Gone“ video. Very talented bunch!
OBZ: Was ist das wichtigste in Ihrem Leben?
WAZ: Love and Music.
OBZ: Waren sie schon einmal in Deutschland?
WAZ: Not yet…but I’m excited to get out there to tour very soon! I’m still building my fanbase in Germany.
OBZ: Würde sie gerne mal bei einem deutschen Projekt mitwirken
WAZ: That’s a loaded question….what type of project? Ha! Yes, I became.
OBZ: Was bedeutet für sie der Begriff Independent?
WAZ: I think ‚indepedent‘ refers to grass roots and doing what you do without the help of some massive corporation.
OBZ: Was war für sie das schönste Erlebnis das sie mal mit einen Fans hatten? Oder mit einigen Fans?
WAZ: I’ve had many! There have been a couple very dear fans that have helped me out when I was a financially or mental mess. Thank God for them!
OBZ: Ist der persönliche Kontakt zu Ihren Fans, Ihnen besonders wichtig?
WAZ: Going back to Grass roots….I feel it’s the MOST important element for an artist.
If you can’t connect with your fans…what have you got left?
OBZ: Was möchten sie Ihren Fans sagen?
WAZ: Sorry it’s taken a little while to get this first album out. from now on, expect things to come out a lot faster. Much respect and thanks!
