Mark O’Shea zählt seit vielen Jahren zu den festen Größen der australischen Country- und Singer-Songwriter-Szene. Der am 16. Februar 1977 in Dalby im Bundesstaat Queensland geborene Musiker entdeckte schon früh seine Leidenschaft für die Musik und machte bereits als Jugendlicher durch den Gewinn eines bedeutenden Talentwettbewerbs auf sich aufmerksam. Heute lebt und arbeitet er sowohl in Sydney als auch in Nashville, Tennessee – zwei Orte, die seine musikalische Entwicklung entscheidend geprägt haben. Im Laufe seiner Karriere wurde O’Shea mehrfach mit den renommierten Golden Guitar Awards ausgezeichnet und etablierte sich als erfolgreicher Sänger, Songwriter und Entertainer auf internationalem Parkett.
Seine Musik vereint die besten Elemente aus Country, Pop und Rock zu einem authentischen und zeitlosen Sound. OBZ: Do you write your own songs?
MARK: I sure do.. but I’m not that crazy to think that every song I sing I need to have written…A great song is a great song, whoever wrote it.. and I’ve recorded some tracks before that I haven’t written.
OBZ: What does your songs evolve from?
MARK: Life experience, relationships with other humans…
OBZ: You also write for other artists. Is the collaboration important to you?
MARK: Yeah – I love co-writing with other people, it’s fun and certainly gives you a different perspective on things. I’m also fortunate to have some other artists cut some of my tunes…
OBZ: Is music for you a feeling of life? Do you think music should play an important role in people’s life?
MARK: Music can be very theraputic… it is a great way to change your mood…
OBZ: Do you always play your music live? Is that important to you?
MARK: I’ve been playing music in pubs and clubs since I was 14.. so yeah it’s important to me. It’s where songs really connect with people.
OBZ: What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you? Was it on a concert? Or was it on another event?
MARK: Too many to list…

OBZ: Tell me about the greatest experience you had with your fans.
MARK: I’ve been incredibly lucky in that I have a pretty strong group of core fans that have stayed with me over the years. They are my true supporters and I am very blessed that they like what I do…
OBZ: Is it important to you to keep in contact with your fans?
MARK: Absolutely! I’m all about keeping in touch with folks… some might say too much!
OBZ: What is the most important thing in your life?
MARK: Family.
OBZ: Imagine you had one free wish. What would you wish for?
MARK: Infinite wishes…
OBZ: Have you ever been to Germany before?
MARK: No, but would LOVE to get there!!!
OBZ: What can we expect of you in the future?
MARK: I’m just going to keep writing, recording and performing songs.. I just bought a house in Nashville, so I imagine I’ll be based here for a while at least.. but I hope to tour Europe VERY soon!
